Spears Ends Mexico Concert After 4 Songs
In a bizarre and unforeseen move, Britney Spears added insult to injury by walking off the stage during a concert in Mexico City, Mexico last night after performing just four songs. Her concert, which was supposed to last well over an hour in length, came just days after Spears arrived in Mexico, greeting reporters with her middle finger.
“I’m Sorry Mexico,” she said as she left. “I love you. Bye.”
The crowd of over 50,000 then began to “boo” and throw merchandise at the stage. Chants of “fraud, fraud,” were also heard, according to the Mexico City daily Milenio.
What many news reports have failed to report is that it was an outdoor stadium and it was raining.
The sound of “boos” was not unfamiliar to Spears, who held a press conference the day before which ended in the same way. One journalist in attendance described the press conference atmosphere as “tense,” and full of “verbal attacks.”
Spears answers were abrupt and in a rude tone of voice. She left the conference to the jeers of the reporters in attendance, who were all witnesses to the dark side of the “Princess of Pop.”
