Britney Spears is doing some damage control right now, three days after she gave Mexican reporters her middle finger. The pop singer, in Mexico for the final concerts of her tour, says she did not intend to send the wrong message to her fans.

“I’m human too. I get mad like everyone else,” she said. “The fans are so amazing.”

Despite her comments, she will still be under fire by media, fans, and perhaps even record company executives, for her inappropriate gesture. Much of Spears’ fan base is pre-teens that look up to her as a roll model.
