Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kick off their world tour August 7 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, following the July 30 release of their first recording together in 18 years, entitled ?The Rising.?

The group got together 3 years ago for their last tour, which lasted a year, that brought together Springsteen with guitarist Steve Van Zandt, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, pianst Roy Bittan, organist Danny Federici, bassist Garry Tallent, vocalist Patti Scialfa and drummer and Late Night with Conan O?Brien band leader Max Weinberg.

The tour will include 39 shows in 39 days in the U.S., and then 7 more dates in Europe. In 2003, they?ll swing through Australia, back through Europe, and back through the U.S. No word on any Canadian dates yet. Tickets for the first 14 dates go on sale July 14 for $75 each at all venues.

The last time the entire band got together for an album was 1984?s all-time classic ?Born in the USA? which included the hit song ?Glory Days.? In 1987, only some members were present for recording ?Tunnel of Love.?
