Aaron Carter, the 14-year-old pop singer and brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, has sued Lou Pearlman for unpaid royalties.

Carter filed a lawsuit this week, accusing Pearlman of owing him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“They find talented kids, sign them, watch them get successful, don’t pay them, wait for them to sue and then settle their cases,” Carter’s lawyer, William Yanger, told the St. Petersburg Times.

Scott Bennett, vice president of Trans Continental, Pearlman’s label, says Pearlman doesn’t owe Carter any money. In fact, he says Carter “probably” owes the company money.

“This isn’t just an honest disagreement over the terms of a contract,” said Yanger. “This is something that has happened time and time again.”

The suit alleges Pearlman of deceiving other pop acts, including the Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync and Take 5.
