The Who to Perform as Tribute to Entwistle
As reported earlier by andPOP, The Who will continue their U.S. tour, despite of the death of bassist John Entwistle. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey will perform as a tribute to their fallen band member.
“He lived for music and will always live within The Who’s music,” his son, Christopher, said today. “This is what he would have wished and our love goes out to the remaining band members and the entourage that makes up The Who family.”
Today’s Las Vegas show and tomorrow?s Irvine show will be re-scheduled for later in the tour.
“Both Daltrey and Townshend view the tour as a ‘tribute to John Entwistle,’ and to the loss of an irreplaceable friend,” said their manager, Bill Curbishley. “The Entwistle family is in full support of the decision to continue and feel this is what John would have wanted.”
