On a night full of memorable moments, it was Swollen Members who came out on top. They came out of the show with 4 awards, the most out of any nominee, despite the 12 nominations for Chad Kroeger of Nickelback.

Perhaps overshadowing the actual awards being handed out was North America’s most free-spoken couple, Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock. Rock asked Canada for its permission to marry Anderson, who hails from Vancouver, British Columbia.

?I’m the American bad ass and this is the Canadian fine ass,? he said to a room full of press.

The performances included a pyro-filled production by Nickelback, Bow Wow featuring dancers Vince Carter and Jerome Williams of the Toronto Raptors, and the Canadian-debut live performances of Shakira and Avril Lavigne.

?I just want to say, with a capital G. Gracias! Gracias! Gracias!? Shakira told the fans, upon winning the awards for Favourite International Artist and Best International Video.

Sum 41, voted Favourite Canadian Group, closed the night with their recent hit, ?What We’re All About,? from the Spider Man soundtrack.

Swollen Members and Puddle Of Mudd also performed. Presenters included Antonio Sabato Jr., Glenn Lewis, Nelly Furtado, Korn, Amanda Marshall, Mandy Moore and Jarome Iginla.
