Shakira, Nickelback to Perform at MMVAs
Performers and presenters for the 2002 Much Music Video Awards were announced today, and the 1200 lucky fans and 1800 invited guests who will attend the event are in for a treat with a star studded lineup.
Shakira will perform on the show, making her first visit to Canada. Puddle of Mudd will perform, while Korn will present an award, just four days before the two rock groups head out on one of the summer’s most anticipated tours.
Other performers include Nickelback, nominated for the most awards, Sum 41, Lil’ Bow Wow, Swollen Members feat. Moka Only, and Avirl Lavigne, making her first live television performance.
Presenters include actors David Boreanaz (Angel), Nicholas Brendon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Shalom Harlow, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Will Sasso (Mad TV), and Antonio Sabato Jr., artists Glenn Lewis, Default, Amanda Marshall, Mandy Moore, Our Lady Peace, Sloan and David Usher, and hockey players Jarome Iginla (Calgary Flames), Anson Carter (Edmonton Oilers) and Cassie Campbell (Captain of Canadian Women’s Gold Medal Olympic Hockey Team).
The awards will be handed out live on the network on Sunday, June 16, 2002 at 9:00 PM ET.
