Because of “unprecedented demand,” Eminem’s “The Eminem Show” will be released another two days earlier. Last week, Interscope, the rapper’s record label, moved up the release by one week because the album had been leaked to the Internet.

The album will be released on a Sunday, instead of the industry norm of having albums released on Tuesdays.

“We found we were able to meet the demand and get The Eminem Show into the stores even earlier than expected,” said Steve Berman, head of sales and marketing for Interscope. “Our mandate as a company was to put the album in listeners’ hands the way Eminem intended them to get it, and to do it as quickly as possible to battle the problems we were having with illicit copying. We saw no reason to have fans waiting until Tuesday in this particular case.”

The album, including a DVD with the first 2 million copies, will be released on May 26.
