Diddy Leaves Arista, Negotiating New Deal
Although he just released “We Invented the Remix” this week under the Arista label, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and his Bad Boy Records label are packing up and seeking a new home.
This comes as no surprise, as Diddy has been looking for a new label for months.
“We’re in negotiations on another situation,” Combs told Reuters. “Our deal was up, and we had a great run with Arista, and we appreciate everything. But it’s time for us to get bigger, man. It’s time for us to go to the next level.”
He would not reveal which label he will be signing with, but said that a report that Faith Evans, Carl Thomas and Dream, who are all signed under the Bad Boy label, would have to stay with Arista is false.
“As far as the particulars, I’m gonna announce all that when we have everything signed and sealed,” he said.
